What do I need to send to get a carpet quotation?

A description of the space, the traffic and the look you have in mind is enough to start. A phone photo of a mood board works.

• Helpful: area schedule (guestrooms, corridors, suites, m²), required fire class, opening date, budget band.
• Ideal: CAD or PDF floor plans, an existing design or artwork, colour references, and the certificate standard the project must meet (ASTM, EN, IMO).

The form accepts PDF, DWG and images up to 25 MB in total.

What exactly do I receive within 24 hours?

How many colours can a hotel carpet design have?

It depends on the construction.

• Printed carpet has no practical colour limit and reproduces photographic detail.
• Axminster is limited by the loom, typically up to 16 colours per design.
• Hand-tufted can use up to 30 colours in one design.

A special colour costs nothing extra.

How do you match carpet colours to Pantone, NCS or RAL?

We match every colour to a physical reference. That can be Pantone TCX, NCS, RAL, Sikkens, HKS or a physical object such as a fabric swatch.

Can I see my carpet design before production starts?

Yes. The design proposal shows the design within 24 hours, colour matching happens on physical poms, and a strike-off is approved before production.

For hand-tufted Grand Royal, a digital strike-off is ready within 72 hours.

Do you make bespoke rugs for hotel lobbies and suites?

Yes. Rugs are made to measure, as cut-and-bound pieces or hand-tufted shapes, in the same constructions as wall-to-wall carpet. Hand-tufted Grand Royal starts from 1 m² for a defined area.

What is the lead time for custom hotel carpet?

From design approval: printed carpet 3 to 6 weeks, Axminster 4 to 8 weeks, hand-tufted 12 to 16 weeks.

Every quotation states the lead time per construction, so you can choose the one that meets your opening date. Freight time comes on top and depends on the destination.

How much extra carpet should I order for pattern repeat and attic stock?

Plan for cut loss of typically 10 to 25%, and up to 20 to 30% for large medallions or directional patterns. We lay out the pattern repeat to suit the roll width to keep waste down.

What fire rating does hotel carpet need?

It depends on the region and the area.

• EU: classification under EN 13501-1. Hotel corridors and escape routes typically require at least Cfl-s1.
• USA: flooring radiant panel test ASTM E648, Class I or Class II depending on the area and the code; Class I is the common specification for corridors.
• Ships: IMO FTP Code.

Certificates are issued per quality and per project and travel with the quotation.

Do your carpets have sustainability certificates such as CRI Green Label Plus or LEED?

Sustainability and indoor air certifications are held by the mills that produce each quality, not by ligea as a company. We state per quality which certifications apply and supply the documents with the quotation.

Royal Garden, our outdoor quality, is made from 100% recycled PET.

Can your carpet meet hotel brand standards?

Yes. Send the brand standard or the relevant pages of the design guide with the specification. We check pile, fibre, backing and fire requirements against it and flag any construction that does not comply.

How much does custom hotel carpet cost per m²?

It depends mainly on construction and quantity. Printed carpet is the most economical, Axminster sits in the middle, hand-tufted is the premium option.

Do you ship worldwide, and on which delivery terms?

Yes, we deliver worldwide. Outside Europe we quote CIF to the main port of the region. Within Europe we deliver duty paid. Carpets are packed by area so the site team can place them floor by floor.

Do you install the carpet?

No. ligea supplies the carpet; installation is done by the project's flooring contractor. We provide the installation documents and layouts with the delivery.

What warranty do you give on hotel carpet?

At least two years, and up to ten years depending on the construction. The warranty period for each construction is stated in the quotation.

Do you have your own factory?

No. ligea designs, specifies and manages every project, and production runs through a vetted network of specialist mills, each chosen for the construction it does best. That is how one design can be quoted in printed, Axminster and hand-tufted versions at once.
